Welcome to Settled
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Settled, including our website, mobile apps, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. Written in plain English because life's too short for legalese.
1. Acceptable Use
Settled is a platform for adults (18+) who can laugh at themselves and appreciate humor-driven connections. You agree to:
- Be yourself. Fake profiles defeat the purpose.
- Respect the teasing level system. If someone sets their comfort level to "light," honor it.
- Keep it funny, not cruel. There's a line between roasting and harassment — you know it.
- Not use the platform for commercial purposes, spam, or solicitation.
- Not attempt to circumvent moderation or safety systems.
2. Content Ownership
You own your content. Your red flag confessions, photos, videos, and comments belong to you. By posting them on Settled, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute them within the Service. You can delete your content at any time, and we'll remove it (with a brief processing window for caches).
3. Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to use Settled. We don't verify birth certificates, but we do take this seriously. If we discover you're under 18, your account will be terminated immediately.
4. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines
- Engage in harassment, threats, or hate speech
- Use bots or automated tools to interact with the platform
- Create multiple accounts or impersonate others
Warnings come first (usually). Suspensions are time-limited. Bans are permanent but appealable.
5. Liability Limitations
Settled provides a platform for connection. We are not responsible for the behavior of other users, the quality of matches, or any outcomes of interactions that begin on our platform. Use common sense when meeting people — online or offline.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uptime, specific features, or that your jokes will land.
6. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Settled will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial or class action participation.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the version number and notify active users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
